Fantastic Services puts bird control at £150 to £500 or more per job in 2026:

• A small job, such as a ledge or a sign: £150 to £300.
• A balcony or roofline: £300 to £600.
• A large or commercial job: £600 to £1,500 or more.
• Spikes: £25 to £50 per linear metre fitted.
• Netting: £15 to £40 per square metre.
• Guano cleaning: £150 to £500 or more, often extra.

London and the South East run 20 to 30% higher.

Other price guides

Other guides give different figures. PestPro Index puts spike installation at £200 to £600, full property proofing at £1,000 to £3,000 or more, and solar panel mesh at £400 to £900. That page is undated. howmuchshoulditcost gives pigeon proofing as £200 to £750, averaging £400, in 2026.

Be careful with per-metre figures. A price of £5 to £15 a metre for spikes is a materials price, not a fitted one. Ask whether a quote includes fitting.

What drives the cost

Access is usually the largest factor. Scaffolding, a mobile platform or roof access equipment can cost more than the proofing itself. Fantastic Services includes survey, materials, installation and a basic clean-down, but not access kit, deep cleaning or maintenance contracts.

Other factors are:

• The size of the area and the method (spikes, netting or mesh).
• How much guano needs removing.
• Whether nests need dealing with outside the breeding season.
• Your region.

Getting a fair quote

Get at least two written quotes. Ask each to list the method, the area covered, the access equipment, the clean-up, and the guarantee. Ask for years of cover on netting and spikes in writing. Check the firm's insurance, particularly for work at height.
